Purpose    First response ladder on commercial fires and all buildings with 3 or more floors when staffing allows, staffed with 1 when available.  Houses confined space and high-angle rescue equipment.  Second Response engine or ladder on fire calls when staffed with call-back personnel and can serve as a replacement when Engine 1 is down for maintenance.  Staffed with call-back personnel for working fires.
