Over 250 participants took part in an area wide full day training session covering newly formed joint emergency plans that are now identical at all Cass and Clay County schools.  The Fargo Dome hosted a large morning conference that included various speakers and several breakout sessions.

Representatives from area law enforcement, fire, EMS, and other safety related agencies participated in both the classroom and hands-on sessions developing partnerships between school officials, staff and first responders.

Moorhead Fire attended and participated in a hazardous materials tract at a North Fargo School that included training in sheltering students in place, and tours and interactive sessions with local haz-mat, SWAT and Special Operations teams.

Everyone started out in a general session.
A staffer explained school side challenges during the afternoon haz-mat session.  Participants then practiced using duct tape and plastic rolls to seal up classrooms if they were threatened by a toxic cloud from a hazardous materials release.
Outside windows and doors were sealed first.
The door closer turned out to be a challenge.
Air vents and cold air returns were sealed.
Fargo Fire used a training smoke generator to test the seals.
