Anthony French was last seen heading northwest from the apartment he left Saturday night. Fargo and Moorhead officials are searching the area where French was last seen. That includes the Red River.
Bob French says, "...waiting for the crews to come by and I don't know... it's not far from the last place anyone saw him that i know of." Anthony's older brother Bob came here to the Red River to see for himself if anything could lead his brother's disappearance.
Bob says, "He was with friends, they got into an argument and he just left."
Sgt. Jeff Skuza with the Fargo Police Department says, "Since he left his wallet, he left his cell phone, he hasn't come home, he hasn't gone to work, we're concerned for his welfare." Since no one has any idea why he left or where he was headed officials are searching the area, including the Red River.
Assistant Fargo Fire Chief Steve Balstad says, "What the crews are going to try to do it, scan what they can with binoculars and if anything's there, hopefully they'll find it." Fargo and Moorhead Fire Departments are searching the river twice a day for the next few days. They're paying close attention to trees, and debris. They area scanning the river between underneath Interstate 94 and 12th Ave North.
With few leads and no answers investigators say French could be anywhere. Sgt. Skuza says, "We have to take in account an adult has the night to disappear if they want to, and we've had missing person cases where they did find the person, and found they were all right."
That's exactly what Bob hopes will happen, that his brother will turn up ok. Bob says, "Maybe you saw him walking down the road, I pray he's anywhere but here."
Friends and family are extremely worried because his girlfriend had a baby boy Wednesday June 20th. They told officials Anthony was looking forward to his child's birth.
