Fire Damages South Moorhead Kitchen

Firefighters from Fargo and Moorhead responded to a
report of a fire in the kitchen in the 200 block of 9th St South in
Moorhead Monday evening.
The call came in at about 6pm. Off-duty Moorhead Firefighters
were dispatched as well as a Rapid Intervention Crew from Fargo to
supplement the two Engine companies on-duty.
The Fargo company was cancelled shortly after Moorhead arrived. In
total, Five Engines, the Chief and Fire Marshal responded to what ended up
being a largely overhaul operation to remove burnt insulation in the
ceiling of the kitchen area. |

The fire, currently under investigation, is believed to have
started in a faulty ceiling fan.
Two additional calls for service were received during this incident; a
faire alarm at Concordia College, and a call for medical assistance.
