Moorhead Fire was awarded a federal Fire Act
Grant in 2004 to replace our entire fleet of Self-Contained Breathing
Apparatus.
Our new SCOTT 4.5 45-minute SCBAs and spare bottles were placed into
service earlier this year.
A portion of the grant also provided for training to handle routine
maintenance and testing of the units to avoid costly service calls from
the manufacturer.

The three day class covered the operational
principles of the units, a full tear-down and rebuild, troubleshooting,
common repairs, tools equipment and techniques, operation of test
equipment, and operation of Scott software and accessories.
Two personnel from each shift are now certified by Scott to work on the
units. |
