Testing Occurs for Acting Officers

On Tuesday and Wednesday ten members of Moorhead Fire participated in a biannual evaluation to develop a promotional ranking list and selection of the top three candidates to serve as Acting Officers when a Lieutenant is absent due to illness, vacation, etc.

Two written tests were administered to evaluate their knowledge of the Essentials of Firefighting and their management and supervisory potential. Day one was rounded out by oral interviews with a panel of Assistant Chiefs, Lieutenants and the Fire Chief.

On day two, each candidate participated in a command practical scenario of a simulated house fire at a vacant residence in town. The shift Assistant Chiefs evaluated their performance in a number of areas.

Results will be announced next week.
