Department Receives New Class A's

June 24, 2005

In 2004 the City Manager and Council approved the purchase of new Class A Uniforms for all department members.  The practice of providing a Class A or dress uniform was discontinued for budgetary reasons decades ago.

Fire Departments have a long history of wearing Class A Uniforms for special events, funerals, and other functions.  They are also typically used by Honor Guards to pay special homage during public functions.

When the funeral of Marty Soeth was announced, we were about 30-days away from having all the pieces delivered.  Our supplier placed a rush delivery on the remaining items to have them ready for the funeral.

Our department is now able to be properly represented at special events. The uniforms will also pull double-duty.  Our honor guard members have additional red trim added to make a formalized unit for special functions.
