Martin L. Soeth, 67, Moorhead, died Wednesday, June 22, 2005, in his home.
Mr. Soeth was born Jan. 7, 1938, in Minneapolis. He grew up and attended
school in Moorhead. He attended Minnesota State University Moorhead and North
Dakota State College of Science, Wahpeton. He worked for Wright Awning Co. from
1955 to 1985. He then worked for the Moorhead Fire Department, where he retired
as chief in 2004. He also worked for Minnesota State Community and Technical
College, Moorhead. On April 6, 1963, he married Sylvia Empting in Dilworth. They
lived in Moorhead and on Big Pine Lake near Perham, Minn.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Lee (Melanie), Moorhead; three daughters,
Lynn (Michael) Day, Lizabeth (Michael) Letness, Lara Soeth, all Moorhead; a
brother, Jack (Janet), Burlington, Wis.; two sisters, Chell Anderson, Iron
River, Mich., Stephanie (Roger) Hendrickson, Walcott, N.D.; and six
grandchildren.
Visitation: Sunday from 4 to 8 and Monday from 9 to 12:30 in Wright Funeral
Home, Moorhead.
Funeral: Monday at 1:30 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead.
Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead.
