Emergency Services Personnel Attending the Service...

Updated June 24th, 2005

Mourning bands placed around your badge would be very appropriate.  These are available commercially by Gall's and other suppliers (many ship these overnight for free.)

You can make your own mourning band just like the commercial ones by purchasing elastic band material at Wal-mart, fabric or hobby stores, cutting to length, making a loop, and either sewing it or stapling it with an office stapler to make a band.  We've found that stapling at a diagonal twice to make an "X" works well.

A quick and easy mourning band may also be made by placing a band of black electrical tape around the badge.  Press it down lightly over the seals and around the edges and it comes off without taking the paint off in the letters.

Arm Bands will not be worn by Moorhead Fire Personnel and are not planned for the service.

Ushers will be available at the church in full Class A Uniforms (Dress jackets, ties, hats) to answer any questions you may have and tend to your needs.  They will also have materials available to place a temporary mourning band on your badge if you've forgotten.

The family has requested that Fire Department uniforms be worn if available.

In memory of Marty, the family is putting together a collage.  A donation of your Department patch would be greatly appreciated.
