The Director and Chief of the Red Lake Fire Department stopped by to present
us with an award for our service to them during aftermath of the Red Lake School
Shootings.
They wanted to say thank you for our covering the town with them during their
mourning period.
"Your support and compassion will never be forgotten in
our days of sorrow and grief from the tragic day of March 21, 2004.
It goes to show that THE BROTHERHOOD OF THE FIRE SERVICE goes beyond the
boundaries of the Red Lake Indian Reservation. Just your being there with
us during this tragic event meant more to us than you can imagine.
We will never be able to thank you enough. ALL THE MEMBERS OF THE
RED LAKE FIRE DEPARTMENT WANT TO SAY CHE-MII-GWETCH."
The plaque proudly displayed in our trophy case in the day
room.
