Moorhead fire officials are investigating a suspected arson set early
Wednesday at the building site of new downtown condominiums.
Assistant Fire Chief Clay Dietrich said officials believe someone
intentionally set a fire about 12:48 a.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of Fourth
Street South.
The fire caused a small amount of damage to the framework of the condos,
Dietrich said.
“Luckily the lumber was pretty wet and it (the fire) didn’t go far,” he
said.
Investigators
are doing tests to determine if an accelerant was used, Dietrich said.
