Moorhead Fire Honors Citizens Before Council

Extraordinary help during South Moorhead Apartment Fire Makes a Difference.

January 18, 2005

Certificates of appreciation were issued for the generous support shown by numerous agencies of our Fire Department and those whom we serve.  Their efforts truly made a difference in our time of need.

On December 24th, during and after a fire at an apartment building at 1114 27th Avenue South ravaged citizens and Fire Fighters alike during sub-zero weather and early morning hours.

Chief Hewitt comments on the generosity of many organizations in town.

Assistant Chief Dietrich recalls events of the night.
The Salvation Army assists in keeping us warm or cool and provides energy food and beverages. The Minn-kota chapter of the red cross saw to the needs  of displaced residents.
Firefighter Dean thanks Marlo Sloan from Matson Oil for literally giving him the dry shirt off his back during a.  Many of us battles the 16 degree below temps while soaked from head to toe through the night.  NAME was presented a pull-over in appreciation for his extreme kindness.
