Moorhead Fire does not routinely provide water cleanup services from floods.

We can assist you in minimizing damage to you property due to unexpected water damage.  We can often determine if a water main has broken or recommend avenues to stop water flow.

During widespread flooding of neighborhoods or potentially catastrophic river flooding we have used fire trucks to pump water from underpasses and helped with sandbagging and water control efforts in our sewers.  During the 1997 flood we also assisted with controlled flooding of basements to relieve wall and foundation pressure and minimize interior damage due to unsanitary river water.  Our haz-mat team is also equipped to help contain chemical spills in water during flooding.
