We investigate all fires that occur in our jurisdiction.  We want to establish the cause of the fire and determine if we can prevent future fires from similarly occurring.

The investigation usually begins with the officer in charge of the fire and is turned over to out Fire Marshal.  He may enlist the help of the Minnesota State Fire Marshal's office, Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, Moorhead Police, and other organizations as needed.
